Dear Writers – we’re closed to new submissions until 15th January 2017. All submissions received between now and 15th Jan will be returned with a (very polite) request to re-submit after this date.
In the meantime, why not enter the ChipLitFest Short Story Competition? All details can be found at http://www.chiplitfest.com/short-story-competition
From 15th Jan onwards, here are our submission guidelines:
– Please submit your stories as word docs to firstname.lastname@example.org.
– Stories of all genres welcome, except writing for children. We take previously published work, and we do not insist on exclusives.
– Minimum 1,000 words preferred. Guideline maximum: 10,000 words.
Please feel free to send a reminder email if you haven’t heard back from us within 4 weeks.
FORMATTING: Great stories are always welcome, but they will be especially so if they arrive in Times New Roman 12, with page numbering bottom right also in TNR 12, with an indent at the beginning of each paragraph (except the first) and with no gaps between paragraphs. We don’t mind about the spacing… double spacing is easier to read, although published pennyshorts are spaced 1.15. For extra points, teacher’s pets can include the following at the end of their piece:
[Name of Author] asserts the moral right to be identified as the author of this work.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and for sending us your stories.
